7 WAYS TO DEAL WITH THE STRESS OF BOARD EXAMS
CBSE BOARD! This is more than a nightmare for any student. We all have been through it and accept it, it’s a real life horrendous dream till the moment we actually face it and realize how easy it was. With less than a month left it is very natural to go bonkers about it. This year the pattern for Class X has changed again whereas Class XII’s pattern is still the same. The hype Indian schooling system creates about board is too over. The exhausted late night revision with a lot of angst is what accompanies the board exam preparations.
Before jumping on to the main, it’s always good to know with how many students you are competing with. In 2017, 886506 students appeared for Board Based Exam for Class X and 1098891 students appeared for Board Based exam for Class XII. For Class X, the rise has been by 2.82 percent whereas for Class XII the rise percentage is 15.73 percent.
With number stats like that and the nationwide importance given to this exam, frustration and parents going overboard with the preparation are no surprise.
Here are the 7 DO’s and DON’T’s for students that they must adopt to deal with all the pressure and hype of BOARD.
- DON’T GET STARTED WITH ANY NEW TV SERIES
Yes this is really important. Today every second student is hooked onto one series or other.
GOT CAN WAIT. EXAMS WON’T.
TV series are extremely addictive so try postponing it for the weekend after the board exams. It’s a no big deal.
- WHATSAPP, FACEBOOK HAVE NO RELATION WITH YOUR STUDIES. AVOID IT.
You know it too but still you won’t let it go. Have a group made up named “EXAM TIME” or “EXAM GROUP DISCUSSION”? Did you get the desired result as signified by the group name? NO right? WHATSAPP messages are way more distracting than any other. Scrolling memes on Facebook won’t get you anywhere in exams. So for this last month just keep your social media aside. It’ll benefit you a lot.
- NOVELS, GAMING: HIT THE PAUSE BUTTON AND EXIT RIGHT AWAY
Addicted to the Sherlock Home series? Harry potter? Or driving your whole day around the NFS World? Reading novels, comic books or gaming is fine but during exams they won’t let you think about anything other than that. As novels are mysterious, the craze buildup is obvious. So better live the practical exam time life rather than the GTA One.
- STOP PROCASTINATING
We always procrastinate despite of knowing that the result is never going to be what we desire for. Procrastination is literally harried, so kindly focus on one task at a time. That one chapter or one small topic you had in mind to revise or do it after, do that right away. It takes away a lot of pressure. You’ll be actually relieved.
- DO TAKE ADEQUATE AMOUNT OF SLEEP
Yes we all believe we can complete the chapter or entire syllabus in that one last night and sometimes we’re successful at that too. BUT is it right? You do know how blank you get while writing exams after that one night study. You might even forget the answer you knew about before coming to the exam hall. This is all because of lack of sleep. It is extremely important to get good sound sleep before attempting any exam. Your memory is retained and you perform better.
- DON’T FORGET TAKING YOUR STATIONERY BOX
Keep a check on all the requisites for the exam before night. Early morning is always a hassle. Don’t keep that work for morning. You might leave some important tool.
- ON THE EXAM DAY: DON’T MEET UP WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE ALWAYS CONFUSED
Avoid people before going to the exam hall. They shall confuse you and make you question about your study instead.
